Job Description: The Alta Vista Summer Program is
a partnership between Alta Vista Elementary School and Ringling College of
Art and Design. The program aims to provide opportunities for Sarasota youth
to have access to lunch during summer break, learn literacy and art skills,
and develop an understanding of healthy eating through mentorships with local
college students and community members. This project is part of Alta Vista
Elementary School's Eagle Academy and is a 2-generational approach aimed at
educating and providing resources to both students and parents enrolled in
the program. Student Workers will work with team members to help plan and
teach lessons, facilitate interactive activities, and provide classroom
support in the areas of nutrition, literacy, and art. This will enhance their
learning objectives as art and design students by utilizing their skills,
talents, and creativity to meet the needs of the community through art
instruction. Student Workers will work with Kindergarten through 3rd graders,
and parents of Alta Vista students. An interest in working with children is
required. Program dates: 05/28/2019 - 07/24/2019 Student Workers will be
required to be available the full length of the program and training. Student
Workers are expected to work 15-20 hours per week of the program. Program
Benefits: $12/hr salary, Living Stipend, Training.
All majors are welcome to apply. Students graduating Spring 2019 are not
eligible for this program. |

the Gallery. 4) Working knowledge of Photoshop and various specialized

Assisting with creating and distributing fliers for MADEBY events. 7)
Assisting with display projects. 8) Providing support to the new artists and

Maintaining basis housekeeping duties, such as dusting, vacuuming and
cleaning glass. 11) Assisting the Gallery Manager and Assistant Manager in

sales or customer service work experience. 2) Working knowledge of Photoshop
Microsoft Office, Adobe software computer skills and experience with
maintaining a website. 3) Possess excellent verbal and written communication,

Job Description: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gallery Assistants should be prepared to assist in the following areas: 1.
Opening and closing the gallery on time. 2. Not leaving the gallery
unattended at any time. 3. Counting visitors and keeping visitor log 4.
Looking presentable and maintaining a professional appearance. 5. Maintaining
general orderliness of gallery when open to public. 6. Monitoring security of
artworks, physical appearance and environmental conditions of the gallery. 7.
Greeting the public and answering questions about the work, Fine Arts,
Ringling, etc. 8. Reporting any concerns or suggestions about gallery
maintenance, security or exhibitions in Gallery log. 9. Running errands or
helping with installations, if asked while on duty or on-call basis if
available. 10. Helping at special events JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified
candidates must be enrolled as a student of Ringling College of Art and
Design. Must be reliable, follow through on assignments and commitments, be
able to work on one's own with limited supervision, and be willing to work
with the public. Preference will be given to the individual who is
